PORTOLA VALLEY, Calif. (PRWEB) January 24, 2013

My Time Treating Incest Families is a thorough presentation of child abuse and incest and its devastating impact to families by author Jane Marchand Lewis, MA, MFT. The increasing number of these cases poses a significant threat not only to the victim but to society as a whole by disintegrating families and rendering them dysfunctional. This book probes into actual cases and the comprehensive and holistic therapy employed to remedy each member of the family.

The Child Molestation Research & Prevention Institute (CMRPI) holds that more than three million children in America are victims of child molestation. However, the definite number remains unresolved as victims are hesitant to inform anyone and the legal procedure to validate such instances is quite complex. The overall psychological and physical trauma suffered by the victims trigger them to become delinquents. Often without the aid of professional help, child abuse becomes a cycle in which the victims become perpetrators themselves.

The focal point of this book is Hank Giarrettos treatment program whereby the incest family is remedied as a whole. This pioneer therapy permitted the mentally stable adult victims the opportunity to advance their healing by directly confronting abusers in a group session. To date, more than 60 satellite programs have been patterned the world over to help the increasing cases of child abuse.

Author Lewis discusses the evils instigated by this societal cancer which brings about suffering and destruction to families. My Time Treating Incest Families raises the awareness of the prevalence and consequences of child abuse in the hope that this problem will eventually come to an end.
