Christains do you think the flood was global?

Question by Tim Cook: Christains do you think the flood was global?

BTW I am a Christian also. But tired of ppl trying to apologize for the G.F #1 God promises not to flood the whole earth anymore. #2 Genealogy shows we come from one of Noah’s 3 sons. #3 Nothing alive dates past the flood. #4. Peter tells us the willfully ignorant will deny this cause its God’s judgment. So what is your views on now?

Try and imagine the physics involved. If enough water rained down from the sky to raise the entire sea level about 100 feet or so, can you imagine what this volume of water would be? The question then becomes, what happened to it all afterwords (disregarding the question of where it all came from in the first place). Frankly earth’s atmosphere is incapable of holding this much water. I suppose one has to assume God created it out of nothing and then evaporated it back to nothing after the flood. I’m afraid this is a pretty weak argument, though.

I won’t even try and imagine how one would fit every species of animal on earth into a single vessel, let along acquire the sheer amount of material needed to build something half the size of manhattan island. Another miracle I suppose.

Regarding genealogy, humans are all the descendants of a dying African population of H. sapius which evolved in Africa around 200,000 years ago. The earth was in an ice age but this locked a lot of water in glaciers in the north and meant Africa experienced thousands of years of a terrible drought. When the ice age ended, the drought ended and humans left Africa for the first time.

I consider willful ignorance the eighth deadly sin. It is so easy to prove the age of the earth is actually 5 billion years old, but sadly American protestants remain sealed in their happy bubbles, most likely because this is just what their government wants them to be, e.g. brainwashed.

BTW: there is evidence Noah’s flood was actually caused by a massive ice dam on the western edge of the Mediterranean. It collapsed, sending billions of gallons of water flowing out across south eastern eurasia. It collected in the lowest spot, which is presently the location of the black sea. A far smaller lake probably existed there, but the accumulating water must have pushed the shore line out up to 100 feet a day. The settlers along the shore of this lake were forced to move constantly for weeks or risk drowning. It must have been a terrifying experience, and this tale became an oral tradition which eventually was recorded in the old testament.
